ABOUT US
Kensington Valley Orthotic and Sports Services provides a wide spectrum of services to health care consumers referred by their physicians. It is our primary goal to improve our client’s and patient’s functional status, whether it means an adult or child taking a first step, or an athlete returning to competition. We provide a wide array of custom designed and fabricated orthotic devices as well as many custom-fit off-the-shelf items. Our clients range in age from newborns to over 100 years of age.
Daniel Q. Minert MS, CO, ATC is the owner, president, and primary practitioner. He is certified by the American Board of Certification for Orthotists and Prosthetists, having earned his certificate in orthotic practice from Northwestern University in 1991. Dan has been a Certified Athletic Trainer for 30 years under the auspices of the National Athletic Trainers Association and obtained his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of Michigan. His experience includes over twelve years of providing orthotic care at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti, Saline, and Howell, and the VA Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Chelsea Community Hospital. Prior to beginning his orthotic practice and continuing today, Dan has worked as an athletic trainer at Brighton Area
Schools and The University of Michigan and provided athletic event coverage through U/M Medsport and SJMH Sportsnet.
Our experienced (over 15 years combined), caring and compassionate office staff guides our clients and patients through the many intricacies in health care financing. We participate with many health plans used in Michigan. If a plan does not allow us to participate, we direct the patient or client to a local provider. For those who don’t have insurance, we provide up-front information about the cost of orthotic care and attempt to offer a reasonable payment plan.
